He left his apt, his roommate says, around 8pm on Wednesday, June 12th…without his wallet or smartphone, but had his apt keys. It was right after that major Derecho storm blew through Chicago…bringing with it tremendous lightening and straight-line winds.

Being a former Nat’l Science Bowl contender and serious fan of unusual weather/meteorology - we are theorizing he might have stepped outdoors to see the aftermath of the storm (as it headed east) - and something happened to him when he did.

He has no ID on him…we are calling area hospitals to see if they have any “John Doe’s”. Nothing yet. His father is flying up to Chicago right now to work with the Chicago Police Dept.

When they were in your head they were limitless; but when they come out they seem to be no bigger than normal things. But that’s not all. The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried; they are clues that could guide your enemies to a prize they would love to steal. It’s hard and painful for you to talk about these things … and then people just look at you strangely. They haven’t understood what you’ve said at all, or why you almost cried while you were saying it.”

- Stephen King, The Body (via larmoyante)

coello:

No, I think there was too rigid a pattern. You came out of an education and are supposed to know your vocation. Your vocation is fixed, and maybe ten years later you find you are not a teacher anymore or you’re not a painter anymore. It may happen. It has happened. I mean Gauguin decided at a certain point he wasn’t a banker anymore; he was a painter. And so he walked away from banking. I think we have a right to change course. But society is the one that keeps demanding that we fit in and not disturb things. They would like you to fit in right away so that things work now.”

- Anaïs Nin (via thequietrabbit)

blue-voids:

Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough. Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best.
